Aiding New Taipei City's Industries in Entering European Markets: Mayor Hou Visits CzechInvest and Association for Foreign Investment
【New Taipei City】New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih, leading a city government delegation, met with representatives from CzechInvest and the Association for Foreign Investment (AFI) to discuss the current industrial landscape of both regions and explore future opportunities for cooperation. Mayor Hou stated that the visit had two primary goals: to express gratitude for the assistance CzechInvest has provided to New Taipei's industries expanding into Europe and to invite Czech companies to participate in the New Taipei City International Business Matchmaking Event.
According to Ondřej Votruba, President of the Association for Foreign Investment, Taiwan and the Czech Republic already have a strong industrial relationship, and he hopes to establish more multifaceted collaborations soon. Jan Michal, CEO of CzechInvest, mentioned that Taiwan has a robust electronics, ICT, and biotechnology industry, and he looks forward to personally learning more about New Taipei City's industrial ecosystem.
Mayor Hou noted that companies like Hsin Tai Industrial and C-C.I International have recently chosen to establish a presence in the Czech Republic, the "Heart of Europe," which demonstrates the strong interest of New Taipei's industries in developing the European market. He added that he wants to thank CzechInvest on behalf of New Taipei's businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, for providing substantial assistance with regulations and procedures. This support has enabled business owners to successfully complete factory setups and start production lines on schedule.
Mayor Hou expressed that New Taipei's industries hope to connect more quickly with their Czech counterparts to strengthen bilateral supply chain cooperation and accelerate expansion into the European market. He explained that both Taiwan and the Czech Republic have unique strengths in fields such as ICT, AIoT, smart healthcare, precision manufacturing, industrial automation, and biotech clinical applications. Deeper collaboration in these areas could help them jointly develop high-end products and innovative applications.
Finally, Mayor Hou extended a heartfelt invitation for Czech companies to form a delegation to visit New Taipei City's industrial clusters and participate in the International Business Matchmaking Event and other investment promotion activities. This would allow them to explore further opportunities for investment, technological cooperation, and market expansion.
