New Taipei City Government Economic Development Department Press Release 2024 New Taipei City International Trade Fair Successfully Completed
[New Taipei City News] The New Taipei City Government successfully hosted the "2024 New Taipei City International Trade Fair" on September 24 and 25. The event saw vibrant interactions between buyers and suppliers, with 140 domestic companies participating alongside 37 international buyers from 14 countries. A total of 467 business matchmaking sessions were held with a capacity crowd , resulting in over NT$3.6 billion in potential procurement opportunities. This event significantly supports local businesses in expanding their global footprint and enhancing their brand competitiveness.
Hsiao-Rung Sheng, Commissioner of the New Taipei City Government Economic Development Department, emphasized the importance of participating in international exhibitions and trade meetings for companies looking to broaden their business horizons. The gathering provided a vital platform for both international buyers and domestic sellers to explore new products and collaboration opportunities, which is crucial for enhancing enterprises' perspectives and product competitiveness. As the industrial hub of Taiwan, New Taipei City is home to over 300,000 companies, including nearly a quarter of Taiwan's core industries like manufacturing and information and communication technology (ICT). These sectors form a diverse industrial cluster with talented professionals related to 5G, AI, electric vehicles, smart transportation, smart manufacturing, green energy, and smart long-term care that continues to attract international attention. Commissioner Sheng also highlighted how the trade fair aids companies in discovering overseas opportunities and improving the efficiency of business negotiations. The event not only enhances the visibility of Taiwanese brands but also strengthens their international competitiveness, leading New Taipei enterprises to expand into global markets.
SSG Management Solutions Joint Stock Company, One of Vietnamese buyers participating for the first time, praised the event for its efficiency in arranging one-on-one meetings with so many Taiwanese companies over two days. It successfully identified potential partners for collaborations in energy-saving solutions, energy storage products, and ESG platforms , and will continue to discuss cooperation details and expand the Vietnamese market. Meanwhile, Turkish buyer Vodafone and its partner techasaY came to Taiwan to procure IoT hardware and solutions, finding diverse products that suit a wide range of customer needs, with plans to introduce these offerings to the Turkish market.
PTCOM Technology Co., Ltd., a New Taipei City-based IoT solution provider, commended the quality of the foreign buyers, noting the precision in matching buyers’ and sellers’ needs fostered long-term partnerships and enhanced their overseas market reach. Chiun Mai Communication Systems, Inc., a developer of one-stop medical care systems, expressed that the event significantly improved their brand’s international visibility and deepened their understanding of global market demands, which will support future international business expansion.
New Taipei City Government Economic Development Department added that since its inception in 2013, the New Taipei City International Trade Fair has facilitated over 8,000 business matchmaking sessions generated NT$97 billion in potential business opportunities. With the recovery of economic and trade activities and the reorganization of the global market landscape after COVID-19, the city government will continue to leverage industry trends and collaborate with local business to promote Taiwanese brands to the world.
