AI Empowerment: Building a Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive City Registration Now Open for NTPC International Smart City Forum on August 22
The global surge of AI has prompted industries, nations, and cities to invest vast resources in driving a new wave of innovation. In response, the New Taipei City Government will host the 2025 NTPC International Smart City Forum on Friday, August 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hilton Taipei Sinban. This year’s theme, “AI Empowerment: Building a Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive City,” will explore how AI innovation will shape the future of smart urban development and long-term sustainability. Attendance is by approved registration, and professionals from government, industry, and academia are encouraged to join the conversation on AI-driven innovation and sustainable transformation.
According to the Information Management Center of New Taipei City, the forum will be held in morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session will open with keynote speeches by Robert Bell, Co-Founder of the Intelligent Community Forum; Professor Yun-Nung Chen from National Taiwan University; and Dr. Tze-Luen Lin, Deputy Executive Officer of the Executive Yuan’s Office of Energy and Carbon Reduction.
The afternoon will feature parallel sub-forums on AI and sustainability. The AI Forum will feature Sam Chao, Senior Director at WiAdvance, who will share insights on building AI-powered smart cities. Kevin Chou, CEO of the AIHPC Accelerator at ASUS GROUP, will discuss AI innovation and industry development. A panel discussion on AI applications and innovation will follow, with contributions from Dr. James Chang, Chairman of Ai3 and Willie Yang, President of eLAND Information.
The Sustainability Forum will examine how cities can achieve net-zero goals through smart technology. Celia Ku, Manager at CHINYI EGGS, will present on how small and medium-sized enterprises can turn waste into energy while enhancing innovation and global competitiveness. Deloitte’s Sustainability Transformation team will also share their work with New Taipei’s Information Management Center on greenhouse gas inventories and carbon neutrality guidelines, offering a model for other departments.
The forum will close with a discussion entitled “Net-Zero and Sustainable Transition in New Taipei City,” featuring Chris Chen, Partner at Deloitte Taiwan, and Sam Hung, General Manager of FABULOUS POWER Co., Ltd., who will explore the city’s sustainable development strategies and the future of renewable energy.
