This year’s key visual and running shirt were designed by Ray Lai, the Creative Director of Plugin B&V, a firm that specializes in brand development. The sounds of cheering, running, and the waves during the competition have been converted into visual motifs within the first-person perspective of the runner. This novel artistic presentation creates an immersive experience for the general public of the “most scenic track” during the WJS Marathon. The award plaquemedals and trophies are the work of the internationally renowned designer Hsu Hsiang-Han, whose many accolades included the Golden Pin Design Award in Taiwan, and the RoPlastic Prize in Italy. The design of the plaque medal incorporates the unique combination of mountains and sea from the landscape, while the flowing lines of the torch-shaped trophy symbolize the speed of the race. The mark of the honor on the base communicates how the runner surpassed their own limits to win a top honor similar to the Oscars.
