2024 ICF Top7 Announcement in New Taipei City For The First Time
New Taipei City has been actively promoting smart city initiatives, hosting international forums for five consecutive years. In 2022, the city was awarded the Top1 Global Smart City from the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) . Furthermore, in 2023, New Taipei City became the world’s first city to obtain the ICF’s smart city full certification. This year, the ICF extended a special invitation to New Taipei City to co-host the “2024 ICF Top7 Global Cities Announcement” on June 19. The event was meticulously prepared by the New Taipei City Government, with Deputy Mayor Chen Chwen-Jing and Director Leu Jang-Hwa from the Administration of Digital Industry, Ministry of Digital Affairs, welcoming esteemed guests from around the world. Notably, representatives from Las Rozas, Spain, were also present, as they will be hosting the 2025 ICF Top7.
ICF Chairman and Co-founder John G. Jung emphasized that the ICF Top7 represents outstanding achievements in global smart city development. Congratulations to this year’s nominated cities (see the award list below). These seven cities exemplify dedication and innovative spirit, providing clear direction for smart development worldwide. On November 4, ICF will announce the Intelligent Community of the Year (Top1) in Barcelona, awarding the highest honor. Director Leu Jang-Hwa highlighted that the Administration of Digital Industry collaborates with various Taiwanese cities to foster consensus and empower smart service needs. On the second day, the New Taipei City Government arranged a special visit for international dignitaries and representatives from overseas missions to Foxconn (Hon Hai Group).
