Long-distance running icon "Emperor" Chou Ting-Yin and celebrity runner “Xiao Zhu” Huang Mu-Yan unbox the New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon "Next Ten Thousand Steps - Play Like This"
【New Taipei City News】The highly acclaimed 2024 New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon, with over 11,000 participants, is set to kick off on March 17th at Wanli Green Bay. Starting today until March 17th, the "Play Like This for the Next Ten Thousand Steps - Capture, Have Fun, Good Luck" interactive exhibition will be showcased on the 1st floor of the New Taipei City Hall. Additionally, from March 14th to 16th, the New Taipei Runners Expo will take place at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium.

On the 5th, Mayor Hou Yu-Ih, along with Yeh Chen-Yen, Chairman of the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association, and representatives from sponsors, attended a press conference to unveil the six highlights of the New Taipei Runners Expo. The event also saw the participation of celebrity runner Huang Mu-Yan, who is leading the event, and “Emperor” Chou Ting-Yin, showcasing the three interactive exhibition areas of "Play Like This - for the Next Ten Thousand Steps - Capture, Have Fun, Good Luck." They encouraged the public to take the next ten thousand steps, connecting sports tourism with surrounding sports industries, and leading everyone towards the next ten thousand steps in competition, sustainability, and the economy.

Mayor Hou stated that the New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon is a signature event for New Taipei City, attracting not only participants from around the world but also becoming a favorite among various city government officials. This year, an interactive exhibition titled "Play Like This for the Next Ten Thousand Steps" is set up in the city hall, inviting visitors to participate in activities such as drawing lots, taking beautiful photos, and creating sentences. For those who didn't secure a spot in the marathon, the mayor encouraged them to visit and draw a lucky poem, expressing the hope that they can join the Taiwan's first WA gold-labeled event next year.

Mayor Hou expressed gratitude to the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association and all sponsors for their support in promoting local economic development through sports and building a diverse sports industry chain. Sports Department, New Taipei City Government added that the New Taipei Runners Expo at Xinzhuang Gymnasium from March 14th to 16th features over 50 companies in areas such as sports supplies, athletic apparel accessories, and sports tourism. Various activities, including sports challenges, celebrity sharing sessions, and immersive consumer experience areas, will be available. Participants can also collect stamps for a chance to win big prizes, and there will be limited entry gifts every day during the three-day event.
